What Switching Off Your Lights for An Hour (or more!) REALLY MEANS

EARTH HOUR.
It all began with our earth being badly abused by us humans.Forests grew barren.Oxygen decreased while carbon dioxide increased.the once clear blue sky is now nothing but hazy grey clouds. and whenever it rains, parents would do all they could do to shield their children and themselves from the acidic drops, hence scenes of children playing and laughing on a rainy day has abruptly been placed into a stop.Just when it couldn't get any worse, the climate began to change.Places that are supposed to rain, the sun shone shamelessly, and just when you are about to go into hibernation for the winter, the next morning you find yourself floating on a fragile ice block in the middle of the icy cold Arctic waters.
Climate change, as a result of the abuse of mother nature, left us humans suffering for our selfish deeds. In fact, many of us have answered our callings to save the earth we destroyed.Yet sadly, many of us are not aware that what we do in our daily lives, affect greatly on the environmental issues. And amongst is the over consumption of electricity.
Thankfully, in 2004, WWF Australia began looking for new ways to take climate change mainstream and after discussing ideas with advertising agency Leo Burnett, The Big Flick (TBF) was born, and a year later, TBF became the world renowned Earth Hour. And Every year since then, more and more countries participated in the annual event and electricity consumption was greatly decreased.
Now, It's our turn to answer the calling. Are you going to do a simple act of flicking off the switch for an HOUR, or even better BEYOND an hour, or are you going to pretend that the earth is all well, and nothing has got to do with you whatsoever because, well, it's just you?
THINK ABOUT IT.
Do we really want the effects of climate change to worsen? Do we want to watch the world end unsightly? Do we want to dwell ourselves in regret and self pity on that day?We DO NOT OWN THIS EARTH. God PLACED us in this wonderful earth to live in and it is our job as guardians to care and treat it well, preserving it for generations to come. So, what will you be doing on MARCH 31ST 2012?
Will you just flick the switches off from 8.30pm (onwards) just like the rest of the Earth Hour participants? Or will you choose this particular time to be rebellious and against everyone else?
Make a difference, even for one night, and do Mother Earth a favour.
